Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan announces new LLMSW Therapist

Marquette—Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan (TFH) has availability with our new LLMSW Therapist in the Marquette office. Effective October 8th, Mercedes Combs LLMSW will be taking referrals at the Teaching Family Homes Counseling Office in Marquette, located at 1000 Silver Creek Road.

Combs received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan in 2005 and comes to TFH with experience as a foster care therapist and post-adoption therapist. She has recently returned from Nepal after spending 2 months volunteering with rural youth.

In her new position, Combs will provide individual and group therapy for youth residing on the Teaching Family Home’s campus in Marquette. Combs will also be available to provide counseling services to eligible DHS clients as well as the general public who qualify through their insurance in Marquette County.

Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan offers a continuum of care including residential treatment group homes, treatment Foster Care, Families First, Educational Services, Parenting classes and support groups, Juvenile Justice Diversion and Reintegration Alternatives (JJDRA), Teen Parenting, and Counseling services.
