Marquette, MI – On September 18, 2008 Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan (TFH) dedicated their new sports field at their campus on Silver Creek Road in Harvey . This event culminated the fundraising activities for the past year in efforts to build a recreation area for the youth at TFH.

The James B. Nankervis sports field includes a soccer/multipurpose field; basketball court; playground; fire pit; pavilion; baseball field; and a shed for equipment storage. This sports field will provide an opportunity for youth at TFH to run, play, and experience the benefits of being active. Experiential recreational treatment, utilizing the outdoors and the sports fields, exposes children to challenging and fun alternative behaviors, while allowing for social skill development.
